Byshky

The village of Byshky on the Tsenivka River is located 15 kilometers northeast of Berezhany. Administratively, it is a part of the Ternopil district of the Ternopil region, subordinate to the Kozova settlement territorial hromada.

It was first mentioned in documents in 1626, although the year 1450 is considered the date of its foundation. The name probably comes from the name of the local landowner Bysh, who built a castle here (not preserved).

For a long time, the village was owned by the Counts of Potocki. The Church of the Resurrection was built in 1938.

The village of Byshky is called the capital of warring Ukraine, because in 1943-1945 the headquarters of the OUN-UPA Branch led by Roman Shukhevych was located here (a monument was erected, a museum was opened).

Село Бишки на річці Ценівка розташоване за 15 кілометрів на північний схід від Бережан. Адміністративно входить до складу Тернопільського району Тернопільської області, підпорядковується Козівській селищній територіальній громаді.

В документах вперше згадується у 1626 році, хоча датою заснування вважається 1450 рік. Назва, імовірно, походить від імені місцевого землевласника Биша, який побудував тут замок (не зберігся).

Протягом тривалого часу селом володіли графи Потоцькі. Церква Воскресіння Господнього зведена 1938 року.

Село Бишки називають столицею воюючої України, оскільки в 1943–1945 роках тут розташовувався штаб Проводу ОУН–УПА на чолі з Романом Шухевичем (встановлено пам'ятник, відкрито музей).
