Vasylkivka

The village of Vasylkivka on the Vovcha River is located 80 kilometers east of the Dnipro, away from the main highways.

It was founded in 1707 as a winter camp of one of the Cossack foremen near the Vasylkiv tract. After the liquidation of Zaporizhzhia Sich in 1775, the winter camp received the status of a military settlement. Later, the settlement became the center of the parish. The main occupations of the inhabitants were agriculture and animal husbandry, crafts were also developed.
