The village of Zlynka is located 25 kilometers northwest of Mala Vyska, next to the M-12 highway.
It was founded in 1798 by Old Believers settlers from the Chernihiv province. Perhaps the toponym is related to the name of the Russian town of Zlynka in the Bryansk region. A local legend says that Empress Catherine II ordered "evil" (disobedient) people to be sent here.
Not far from Zlynka is a geological monument of nature - the tract "Cascades".
Kaskady Tract
Natural object
The picturesque tract "Kaskady " in the valley of the Buky River is located southwest of the village of Zlynka.
A geological monument of local importance with an area of 2.5 hectares - the place where a massive block of Lower Proterozoic granites and migmatites of the Ukrainian shield, the oldest tectonic structure of Ukraine (2 billion years), came to the surface. Thanks to huge granite boulders, a whole complex of beautiful falls and mini-waterfalls was formed here.
Perhaps, in the 1st millennium BC, this place served as a Scythian sanctuary (in the past, individual petroglyphs could be seen on the walls of flooded caves).
Plant groups of petrophytic, shrub and meadow steppes have been preserved in the "Kaskady" tract. 9 species of plants are included in the European Red List and the Red Book of Ukraine.
