Vovche

The ancient Carpathian village of Vovche is located 10 kilometers northwest of Turka, not far from the Polish border.

3 kilometers from the village stretches the high and long Rozluch ridge with peaks up to 900 meters and more. On the southwestern slope of Mount Rozluch, behind Stare Pole, 7 kilometers from the village, at an altitude of 760 meters, there is a source that is the source of the Dniester - a natural monument of local importance (area 54 hectares).

Vovche has been known since 1519, when the Polish king Sigismund I granted a privilege for it to the nobleman Ilya. One of the oldest wooden churches of Lviv Region is located here - the Church of the Introduction to the Church of the Holy Mother of God (1680), an architectural monument of national importance. Also preserved are the Horishnya (upper) church of Saint Dmitri's (1890) and the neo-Gothic wooden church of Saint Peter and Paul (1900), which is now the Greek-Catholic church of Saint Nicholas.

In the lower part of the village, under an old linden tree, there is Frank's well - a well with very cold, clean and tasty water, from which, according to legend, the writer Ivan Franko often drank water.

Також збереглася горішня (верхня) церква Святого Дмитра (1890 рік) та неоготичний дерев'яний костел Святих Петра і Павла (1900 рік), який нині є греко-католицьким храмом Святого Миколая.

В нижній частині села, під старою липою, знаходиться Франкова криниця - колодязь з дуже холодною, чистою та смачною водою, з якого, за переказами, часто пив воду письменник Іван Франко.
