Velyka Uholka

The far Carpathian village of Velyka Uholka stretches for 10 kilometers along the banks of the river of the same name, surrounded by beech forests, next to the territory of the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve. It is part of the Uholka hromada of the Tiachiv district of the Transcarpathian region.

The village of Velyka Uholka has been known since 1610. Since ancient times, this region has been famous for a large number of sources of mineral waters of the hydrocarbonate type. The wooden Church of the Resurrection of Christ was built in 1923, and the brick church of the Holy Myrrh-Bearing Women was built nearby in 1996.
