The border village of Storozhnytsia is located near Uzhhorod, 5 kilometers from the Slovak border, 30 kilometers from the Hungarian border.
It has been known since the 13th century as a settlement of royal guards who guarded the approaches to Uzhhorod. The first written mention of the Storozhnytsia dates back to 1288.
