Velyka Bakta

The ancient village of Velyka Bakta is located on the Virka River near the town of Berehove, known since 1363.

Ochkay Palace - an architectural monument of the end of the 19th century - has been preserved on the territory of the village. Sometimes it is called the "Gottesman Palace" after the name of the Austrian landowner Adolf Gottesman, who in the middle of the 19th century bought the lands of Velyka Bakta together with the palace from the Ochkay family, and rebuilt the palace in its present form. На території села зберігся палац Очкая - архітектурна пам'ятка кінця XIX століття. Іноді його називають "палацом Готтесмана" за ім'ям австрійського землевласника Адольфа Готтесмана, який в середині XIX століття викупив землі Великої Бакти разом із палацом у сімейства Очкаї, та перебудував палац в його сьогоднішньому вигляді. Зараз в палаці розташована Закарпатська державна сільськогосподарська дослідна станція, створений у 1989 році на базі Закарпатської державної сільськогосподарської дослідної станції.
