Pripyat is a ghost city, preserved in 1986 after the accident at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant and the creation of a 30-kilometer exclusion zone.
It was founded in 1970 for the residence of builders and service personnel of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which was launched in 1984. At the time of the disaster, the population of Pripyat was 49,000. After the explosion at the station, all residents of the city were evacuated. Roadblocks are installed at the entrances, visits are possible only with special passes.
Despite the increased security, over the years the city has been subject to looting and looting.
The ghost town impresses the imagination of the few visitors with eerie pictures of frozen time and ruins absorbed by nature.

The Chornobyl nuclear power plant was closed in 2000 due to the pressure of the world public on the leadership of Ukraine.
In 1986, the largest man-made accident in world history occurred at the 4th power unit of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which resulted in radiation contamination of large areas of Ukraine and Belarus. A protective sarcophagus was built over the destroyed power unit.
Visiting is possible only with special passes. Excursions from Kyiv are organized.
