General information about Selyshche
The village of Selyshche on the Trubizh River is located 5 kilometers north of Baryshivka.
It has been known since 1593, but the settlement existed even during the times of Kyivan Rus.
The wooden Saint George's Church, built in 1910-1914, has been preserved.
Село Селище на річці Трубіж розташоване в 5 кілометрах на північ від Баришівки.
Відоме з 1593 року, проте поселення існувало ще за часів Київської Русі.
Збереглася дерев'яна Георгіївська церква, збудована в 1910-1914 роках.

Saint George's Church
Temple , Architecture
The wooden church of Saint Great Martyr George was built in the village of Selyshche in 1910-1914 at the expense of Cossack landowners.
A sample of Cossack cult architecture of the beginning of the 20th century. Five domes give the unusual strength and fundamentality of the building, and the four auxiliary ones are almost as large as the main one.
In Soviet times, a granary was located here. Officially, the Church of Saint George does not belong to the monuments of architecture.
