Buryn

The city of Buryn on the Chasha River is located 50 kilometers east of Konotop. Administratively, it is part of the Konotop district of Sumy region.

The settlement of Byrin was first mentioned in the "List of Russian cities far and near" among the cities of Kursk region between 1387-1392. According to one version, it was the capital of the Bury tribe, from where the name came. According to another version, the settlement was founded by settlers from the Galician city of Borynia.

Among the fragments of the old city buildings, the house of the landowner Vechorka has been preserved, which now houses a church. In the city park you can see the Centennial Oak, which is over 350 years old. The "Haidukova Krynytsia" is a hydrological monument.

Місто Буринь на річці Чаша розташоване за 50 кілометрів на схід від Конотопа. Аміністративно входить до складу Конотопського району Сумської області.

Поселення Бирінь вперше згадується у "Списку руських міст далеких і близьких" серед міст Курщини між 1387-1392 роками. За однією з версій, це була столиця племені бурів, звідки пішла назва. За іншою версією, поселення заснували переселенці з галицього міста Бориня.

Серед фрагментів старої забудови міста зберігся будинок поміщика Вечорки, в якому зараз знаходиться церква. В міському парку можна побачити Віковий дуб, якому понад 350 років. Гідрологічною пам'яткою є "Гайдукова криниця".
