General information about Bystryk

The village of Bystryk is located at the confluence of the Bystrytsia River into the Ret, 10 kilometers east of Krolevets, next to the M-02 highway Kipti - Hlukhiv - Bachivsk. Administratively, it is part of the Konotop district of the Sumy region.

Bystryk was founded in the middle of the 17th century. The old coat of arms of the village with the image of a horse jumping over a brick wall symbolizes the existence of Cossack stables and a brick factory in the village. During the Russian Empire, the road from Moscow via Kyiv to Odessa ran through the village.

The Ukrainian Soviet poet Pylyp Rud was born in the village (a monument has been erected, a museum has been opened).
