Zhashkiv

The city of Zhashkiv is located on the Torch River, on the Kyiv-Odesa highway.

It appears for the first time on the maps of Guillaume Beauplan in the 17th century as part of the possessions of the princes Ostrozkyi. During the War of Liberation in 1649, the city became part of the Uman regiment, in 1667 it was returned to Poland, and from the end of the 18th century it was part of Russia. Since 1860, a sugar factory built by Yan Tarnovetskyi has been operating. Only the park in the center of the city remained from the Tarnovetskyi estate.

This is a popular intermediate point on the Kyiv-Odesa route with a solid restaurant and a large spontaneous market right on the route.

Місто Жашків розташоване на річці Торч, на трасі Київ-Одеса.

Вперше фігурує на картах Гійома Боплана в XVII сторіччі як частина володінь князів Острозьких. В ході Визвольної війни в 1649 році місто увійшло до складу Уманського полку, в 1667 році було повернуто Польщі, з кінця XVIII століття перебувало в складі Росії. З 1860 року працює цукрозавод, збудований Яном Тарновецьким. Від маєтку Тарновецьких залишився тільки парк в центрі міста.

Це популярний проміжний пункт на маршруті Київ-Одеса з солідним рестораном і великим стихійним ринком прямо на трасі.
