Shampaniia

The small village of Shampaniia is located in the "Shevchenko triangle", between the villages of Moryntsi and Shevchenkove. These are the native places of the great Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko.

Shampaniia was considered a separate settlement only in the 1960s, when it appeared on the map. Before that, it was a hamlet of Shampaniya or Shampanivka, the name of which is associated with the surname of the head of the economy of the local landowner Enhelhardt, a Pole of Shampanskyi. Local residents also like to tell the legend that a lonely lisp woman used to live here, who answered the questions of passers-by about the owner (master) of these lands: "Shama pani me".

A Military-Patriotic Center-Museum was created in the village on the basis of the private motor vehicle company "Shampantrans" with the support of the Ukrainian Union of Veterans of Afghanistan, which presents weapons and military equipment of the Soviet era.
