Kutsivka

The village of Kutsivka is located 25 kilometers northwest of Smila.

It is known since the 18th century, when these lands belonged to the princes of Lubomyrskyi. The village got its name from its location in Kutsa Balka.

After the creation of the Kyiv province (1793), it was purchased by Prince Hryhoriy Potemkin. After his death, General Vysotskyi became the master of these lands, then Major General Orlov. In 1846, the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in the style of late classicism was built at Orlov's expense. At the beginning of the 20th century, the village belonged to the secret adviser Mykola Tereshchenko.

Відоме з XVIII сторіччя, коли ці землі входили у володіння князів Любомирських. Свою назву село отримало від місця розташування в Куцій балці.

Після створення Київської губернії (1793 рік) його придбав князь Григорій Потьомкін. Після його смерті господарем цих земель став генерал Висоцький, потім генерал-майор Орлов. В 1846 році коштом Орлова було збудовано церкву Різдва Богородиці в стилі пізнього класицизму. На початку XX століття село належало таємному радникові Миколі Терещенку.

В 1895 році в Куцівці народився письменник Теодосій Осьмачка (на місці батьківського будинку встановлено пам'ятний знак).
