Dobra

The village of Dobra is located next to the highway E-95 "Kyiv - Odesa", opposite the turn to Mankivka.

It arose at the turn of the XVI-XVII centuries. According to legend, the name of the village was given by the Cossacks who passed by, drank the delicious water from the local well and shouted: "Dobra!". According to another version, the name comes from the "Dobra Dibrova" forest, which was here before.

The first written mention of the village dates back to 1755. Soon, the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin (not preserved) was consecrated. These lands belonged to the Counts of Potocki, for whom a fortified residence with a defensive wall, underground passageways, an arsen ...

In the first half of the 19th century, Andzhey Potocki sold Dobra to Florian Rozhytskyi, a good landowner, who rebuilt the estate, erecting a one-story palace in the classicist style on the site of the castle, which has survived to this day along with the remains of the park.
