The village of Orlovets is located between Horodyshche and Smila.

Known since the 17th century. After joining the region to the Russian Empire, the village of Orlovets was in the possession of Prince Hrihoriy Potemkin. The next owners were Princess Yusupova, Count Potoski, Counts Mnishek. The county estate has not survived. In 1834, a sugar factory was built.
