Taikury

The village of Taikury is located 10 km southeast of Rivne. The name is derived from the words "secret mountains".

For the first time, the village of Taikury was mentioned in 1570 as the property of the Kirdey-Taikura magnates. Later it belonged to the Polish nobleman Ivan Shpanovsky, then it passed to the influential princely family of the Vishnivetskyi.

In 1614, the Taikury received Magdeburg law. From those times, the ruins of the defensive castle, built by Yuriy Vyshnevetskyi and burned down in 1825, have been preserved.

At the beginning of the 18th century, the Taikury passed to the Peplovskyi family, who built the church of Saint Lawrence in 1710. The Intercession Church (1731) built ...
