On April 4-6, when the mass cherry blossoming is expected to begin in the regional center of Transcarpathia, the city authorities are preparing a bright festival with a "Pink Parade", a fire show, a craft fair and food courts.
Unusually early cherry blossoming is predicted this year in Uzhgorod in Transcarpathia. The first Japanese cherry trees in the city have already bloomed, as reported by residents on social networks, and mass flowering is expected during the first half of April.
"Every spring, the streets of Uzhgorod are covered with delicate pink cherry blossoms, creating a unique atmosphere. This is one of the main visiting cards of our city, which attracts thousands of guests from all over Ukraine and abroad even in these difficult times - such a walk is like flower therapy," the press service of the Uzhgorod City Council says.
To make it easier for guests of Uzhhorod who will come for the sakura season to navigate the city streets and quickly find Sakura Alley and other flower locations for walks and photos, the city authorities have prepared an Interactive Sakura Map.
For better access to locations with sakura during the flowering period on April 5-6 and 12-13, traffic will be blocked on Oleksandr Dovzhenko Street (from Narodnaya Square to Zhupanatska Square), Ferenc Rakoczi Street (from "Sovyne Hnizdo" to Klara Labyk Street) and Klara Labyk Street in Uzhhorod.
For April 4-6, when the mass flowering of sakura is expected to begin in Uzhhorod, the city has prepared a large program of various events.
"The traditional "Sakura Fest" invites Uzhhorod residents and guests of the city to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of sakura blossoming, art, music and charity. During the festival days, the city will be filled with bright events for adults and children," the organizers promise.
One of the highlights of the festival will be the "Pink March", and a thematic photo zone will also be open. A folk choir, a symphony orchestra, the Tequila Band, Not One, Gravity Religion and other performers will perform. A fire show and a dance with LEDs will be a spectacular end to one of the festival days (a detailed schedule will be announced later).
Art zones will operate in the courtyard of the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts, in the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred Square, as well as on Yevhen Fentsyk and Teatralna squares. There will be exhibitions, master classes and performances by creative groups. Film screenings and lectures on the embankment are prepared for those who want to relax in a relaxed atmosphere.
A craft fair will be held on the Uzh River embankment. Handmade fairs can be found on Yevhen Fentsyk and Teatralna squares. Food courts with a variety of dishes will be open at various locations.
