Christmas 2025-2026 in Kyiv: main New Year's locations

The pre-Christmas period in Kyiv, despite martial law in the country, promises to be warm and cozy. The streets of the city, shop windows and cafes are decorated with festive lights, winter towns and fairs are starting to work. The main events are planned for December 6-7, St. Nicholas Day.

Christmas in Sophia

The official opening of the country's Main Christmas Tree on Sophia Square will traditionally take place on December 6 - on St. Nicholas Day. The 16-meter-high artificial tree is decorated in pastel colors of the frescoes of Sophia of Kyiv. Bright evening illumination is not planned this year - only discreet white lighting. But an ice rink will be set up next to the Christmas tree, and Christmas houses with goodies will be open.

Winter Town at VDNG

On November 29, the winter season at VDNG officially started. At the central entrance, guests are greeted by a large light photo zone and an alley of shining Christmas trees, which forms a "light passage" to a magical world. The territory already includes the largest ice rink in the country, the Illuminarium light installation park, the "Orangery of Magic" with new photo zones, the world of amazing creatures "Shumilend", a Christmas market and Nicholas' workshops, which create a real fairy-tale atmosphere.

In total, about 20 thematic locations with warm relaxation areas and shelters in case of air raids operate on the territory of the "Winter Country" every day from 10:00 to 21:00. Admission is free.

Residence of St. Nicholas in the Lavra

Since November 29, the Residence of St. Nicholas has been operating in the Great Lavra Bell Tower on the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. In this cozy space, young guests can write a letter to the miracle worker, make a cherished wish and even take a souvenir photo with Saint Nicholas. Visitors can also enjoy the "World of Fairy Tales" from children's and youth studios, amazing works by artists from the Ukrainian Quilter's Association and UAHA, as well as unique exhibits from the State Museum of Toys.

In the event of an air raid, the Great Lavra Bell Tower serves as a shelter.

Christmas Fair at the Honchar Museum

On December 6-7, craftsmen from different parts of Ukraine will visit the Ivan Honchar Museum with their handicrafts. Guests from Ivano-Frankivsk region will present Hutsul beds, paths, embroidered keptars and sardaks, craftsmen from Volyn will present woven tablecloths, recreated costumes and embroidery of the Liubeshiv region. There will also be Christmas attributes from other regions: didukhs, straw spiders, Christmas stars, nativity masks, festive clothes, traditional decorations, towels, candles, pottery.

The fair will be open for two days from 11:00 to 19:00. Full ticket - UAH 100, concessional - UAH 50, free admission for children under 16, veterans and military personnel. During an air raid alert, visitors will be invited to the nearest shelter.

Residence of St. Nicholas in "Mamayeva Sloboda"

The main residence of St. Nicholas on the Tytar estate in the Cossack village of "Mamayeva Sloboda" opened on November 23 and will be open until January 6, 2026. This is a real Ukrainian fairy tale with a stove, tea, gingerbread and sincere wishes from Nicholas. The organizers ask you to make a prior arrangement to visit the residence, order a tour, master classes or purchase a printed honey gingerbread - "Mykolaichyk".

The residence is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00. The cost is UAH 520.

Meeting with St. Nicholas at the Open-Air Museum

From December 4 to 21, the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine invites you to a meeting with St. Nicholas. Among the snowy streets of the ancient village, the ancient legend of the good Miracle Worker comes to life. Young visitors can expect: a theatrical performance with the participation of fairy-tale heroes, games, songs, dances and fun tasks, and of course a meeting with Nicholas himself

The cost of the program for one child is UAH 400 (the price includes a gift and an entrance ticket to the museum).

Ice Family Park near the Skymall shopping mall

In the coming days, a large skating rink will open on the territory of the SkyMall shopping mall, an illumination park will work and a Christmas tree will shine. The location is suitable for companies, training or date skates. There are also food courts and enough places to relax, which makes the location practical for families. Guests are promised something very atmospheric, festive and something that will definitely create a winter mood.

The administration will announce the opening date of the skating rink in the near future. It will be open daily from 10:00 to 22:00.

Grinch's Residence in "Dobropark"

The winter season in "Dobropark" near Kyiv starts on December 6. The main event of the 2025-2026 season is the Grinch's Residence with festive decorations, themed quests, photo zones and a program for children. Guests will be greeted by a large deer at the entrance. This year, the Lavender Field will shine with pink illuminations with snowflakes. Guests were also treated to a Christmas tree festival and an illumination festival, Ice Land – figure photo zones with penguins, deer and seals, warm zones with warming drinks and food courts.

Park opening hours: daily 16:00–22:00 (ticket office until 21:00). Special prices when purchasing online: children's ticket – UAH 300, adult ticket – UAH 450 (the price includes parking, Grinch Residence, Dobrochar Residence, a house with decor and animated toys, a tubing slide, a children's playground "Cosmos").

Передріздвяний період у Києві, попри воєнний стан у країні, обіцяє бути теплим і затишним. Вулиці міста, вітрини магазинів і кав'ярень прикрасили святкові вогні, починають працювати зимові містечка та ярмарки. Основні події заплановані присвячені на 6-7 грудня, до Дня Святого Миколая.

Різдво на Софії

Офіційне відкриття Головної ялинки країни на Софійській площі традиційно відбудеться 6 грудня – у День святого Миколая. Штучне дерево заввишки 16 метрів оформлене у пастельних кольорах фресок Софії Київської. Яскрава вечірня ілюмінація цього року не передбачена – лише стримана біла підсвітка. Але поруч із ялинкою облаштують ковзанку, працюватимуть різдвяні будиночки зі смаколиками.

Зимове містечко на ВДНГ

29 листопада офіційно стартував зимовий сезон на ВДНГ. На центральному вході гостей зустрічає велика світлова фотозона й алея із сяючих ялинок, що утворює "світловий прохід" до магічного світу. На території вже працює найбільша ковзанка країни, парк світлових інсталяцій Illuminarium, "Оранжерея чар" з новими фотозонами, світ дивовижних істот "Шуміленд", різдвяний ярмарок та майстерні Миколая, які створюють справжню казкову атмосферу.

Загалом на території "Зимової країни" щодня з 10:00 до 21:00 діє близько 20 тематичних локацій із теплими зонами для відпочинку та укриттями на випадок повітряної тривоги. Вхід вільний.

Резиденція Святого Миколая у Лаврі

З 29 листопада у Великій лаврській дзвіниці на території Києво-Печерської лаври працює Резиденція Святого Миколая. У цьому затишному просторі маленькі гості можуть написати листа чудотворцю, загадати заповітне бажання і навіть зробити фото на згадку зі Святим Миколаєм. На відвідувачів також чекає "Світ казок" від дитячо-юнацьких студій, дивовижні твори мисткинь Ukrainian Quilter’s Association та художниць UAHA, а ще унікальні експонати від Державного музею іграшки.

Резиденція працює до 14 грудня щосуботи та неділі з 11:00 до 16:00. Вхід – 150 грн, Резиденція + вистава – 300 грн, вхід до Резиденції дітям до 6 років – безкоштовно. Реєстрація за посиланням...

У разі повітряної тривоги Велика лаврська дзвіниця працює як укриття. 

Різдвяний ярмарок у Музеї Гончара

6-7 грудня до в Музею Івана Гончара завітають майстри та майстрині з різних куточків України зі своїми рукотворами. Гості з Івано-Франківщини представлять гуцульські ліжники, доріжки, оздоблені вишивкою кептарі й сардаки, майстри з Волині – ткані скатертини, відтворені строї та вишивку Любешівщини. Будуть різдвяні атрибути й з інших регіонів: дідухи, солом'яні павуки, різдвяні зірки, вертепні маски, святковий одяг, традиційні прикраси, рушники, свічки, гончарний посуд.

Ярмарок працюватиме протягом двох днів з 11:00 до 19:00. Повний квиток – 100 грн, пільговий – 50 грн, вільний вхід для дітей до 16 років, ветеранів та військовослужбовців. Під час повітряної тривоги відвідувачів запросять до найближчого укриття.

Резиденція Святого Миколая в "Мамаєвій Слободі"

Головна резиденція Святого Миколая на садибі Титаря у козацькому селищі "Мамаєва Слобода" відкрилася 23 листопада і працюватиме до 6 січня 2026 року. Це справжня українська казка з піччю, чаєм, пряниками та щирими побажаннями від Миколая. Організатори просять попередньо домовитись про відвідування резиденції, замовлення екскурсії, майстеркласи або придбання печатного медового пряника – "Миколайчика".

Резиденція працює щодня з 10:00 до 18:00. Вартість – 520 грн.

Зустріч зі Святим Миколаєм у Музеї просто неба

З 4 по 21 грудня Національний музей народної архітектури та побуту України запрошує на зустріч зі Святим Миколаєм. Серед засніжених вулиць старовинного села оживає давня легенда про доброго Чудотворця. На маленьких відвідувачів чекають: театралізоване дійство за участю казкових героїв, ігри, пісні, танці та веселі завдання, і звісно ж зустріч із самим Миколаєм

Вартість програми для однієї дитини – 400 грн (у вартість входить подарунок та вхідний квиток на територію музею).

Ice Family Park біля ТРЦ Skymall

Найближчими днями на території ТРЦ SkyMall відкриється велика ковзанка, запрацює парк ілюмінацій та засяє різдвяна ялинка. Локація підходить для компаній, тренувань або дат-скейтів. Тут також є фудкорти та достатньо місць для відпочинку, що робить локацію практичною і для сімей. Гостям обіцяють щось дуже атмосферне, святкове і таке, що точно створить зимовий настрій.

Дату відкриття ковзанки адміністрація оголосить найближчим часом. Вона працюватиме щодня з 10:00 до 22:00.

Резиденція Грінча у "Добропарку"

Зимовий сезон у "Добропарку" під Києвом стартує з 6 грудня. Головна подія сезону 2025-2026 – Резиденція Грінча зі святковими декораціями, тематичними квестами, фотозонами та програмою для дітей. Гостей зустрічатиме великий олень біля входу. Лавандове поле цьогоріч засяє рожевими ілюмінаціями зі сніжинками. Також гостям підготували фестиваль ялинок та фестиваль ілюмінацій, Ice Land – фігурні фотозони з пінгвінчиками, оленями та тюленями, теплі зони зі зігріваючими напоями та фудкортами.

Графік роботи парку: щодня 16:00–22:00 (каса до 21:00).
