Russian drone destroys Khrushchov estate, where Taras Shevchenko visited

A Russian drone strike destroyed the Khrushchov estate in the village of Lyfyne, Sumy region, where Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko once visited. Sumy architect Ihor Tytarenko reported this, calling it an "incredible loss of architectural heritage."

According to the architect, the Khrushchov estate is one of the most interesting architectural structures in the Sumy region. However, it has not been restored for many years, so the building has slowly collapsed. As a result of the Russian attack, the main building was completely burned down.

"This monument was of high value. Taras Shevchenko stayed in the estate for some time, where he created sketches and sketches. The house has an underground part with a small tunnel. The photo shows that the wooden carved decoration that adorned the facades and interiors of the estate has been completely lost. Only the stone frame remains, which makes it possible to restore the destroyed architectural monument in the future," the architect wrote.

According to Tytarenko, the remains of the building need to be preserved in order to preserve them and restore the architectural monument in the future.

It is known that Taras Shevchenko stayed in the Khrushchov estate from June 6 to 9, 1859, during the poet's last trip to Ukraine. Here he wrote the poem "Oh, the rose blooms on the mountain", and also painted two landscapes of the village of Lyfyne.

Удар російського дрона зруйновав садибу Хрущових у селі Лифине Сумської області, де свого часу гостював український поет Тарас Шевченко. Про це повідомив сумський архітектор Ігор Титаренко, назвавши це "неймовірною втратою архітектурної спадщини".

На думку архітектора, садиба Хрущових є однією з найцікавіших архітектурних споруд в Сумській області. Проте протягом багатьох років її не реставрували, тож будівля поволі руйнувалася. Внаслідок російської ж атаки головна будівля повністю згоріла.

"Ця пам’ятка мала високу цінність. В садибі деякий час гостював Тарас Шевченко, де його рукою були створені замальовки та етюди. Будинок має підземну частину з невеличким тунелем. По фото видно, що повністю втрачене дерев’яне різьблене оздоблення, яке прикрашало фасади та інтер'єри садиби. Лишився тільки кам’яний каркас, що дає змогу в майбутньому відновити зруйновану пам’ятку архітектури", – написав архітектор.

На думку Титаренка, залишки будівлі потрібно законсервувати для того, щоби зберегти їх і в майбутньому відреставрувати архітектурну пам’ятку.

Відомо, що Тарас Шевченко гостював в садибі Хрущових з 6 по 9 червня 1859 року під час останньої подорожі поета в Україну. Тут він написав вірш "Ой по горі ромен цвіте", а також намалював два пейзажі села Лифине.
