National Opera Theater of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko, Kyiv

The National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko in Kyiv is one of the most famous opera and ballet stages in Europe.

The building was built in the style of the French Renaissance on the site of the city theater that burned down in 1896. In 1911, Russian Prime Minister Petro Stolypin was assassinated here in front of Mykola II and the public.

In the park there is a monument to the author of classical Ukrainian operas, Mykola Lysenko.

Національний академічний театр опери та балету України імені Тараса Шевченка в Києві - одна з найвідоміших оперних та балетних сцен Європи.

Будівля збудована в стилі французького ренесансу на місці згорілого в 1896 році міського театру. В 1911 році тут на очах Миколи II та публіки було вбито прем'єр-міністра росії Петра Столипіна.

У сквері Національної опери - пам'ятник автору класичних українських опер Миколі Лисенку.
