Nativity of John the Baptist Church
The wooden Orthodox Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist was built in Kosiv in 1912 in the Hutsul style.
It is located in a cemetery where many interesting crypts and tombstones have been preserved. Until the 18th century, there was an ancient monastery with the Church of Saint Nicholas on this place.
The current Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist is known for the fact that in 1990, Patriarch Volodymyr (Romanyuk), who is buried near Sophia of Kyiv, was ordained as a monk.
