The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (Nadstavna) is the oldest church in Ternopil.

It was built by the founder of the city, crown hetman Jan Tarnovsky, on the site of the ancient Rus temple of the times of King Danylo Halytskyi. Збудована засновником міста, коронним гетьманом Яном Тарновським, на місці давньоруського храму часів короля Данила Галицького. Церква розташовувалась поряд із західними (Львівськими) воротами Тернополя над ставом, за що й отримала другу назву "Надставна" або "Церква над ставком".

В 1627 році добудовано дзвіницю. Використані давньоруські оборонні архітектурні традиції. В 1959 році Воздвиженська церква була відреставрована.

Належить до Православної церкви України.
