Seliatyn

The ancient village of Seliatyn is located 20 kilometers south of Putyla, on the border with Romania.

It was mentioned for the first time in 1490 in a deed of the Moldavian prince Stefan III as the property of the Putnyanyn monastery (Romania). One of the oldest wooden churches in Bukovyna is located here - the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin (1630). The Greek-Catholic Church of Saint Volodymyr (1848) has also survived to this day.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Seliatyn, through which the railway passed (now closed), was a rich and developed village, which is evidenced by the large number of administrative and public buildings that have survived, most of which, however, are in poor cond ...

Вперше згадується в 1490 році в грамоті молдавського князя Стефана III як власність Путнянського монастиря (Румунія). Тут знаходиться один з найстаріших дерев'яних храмів Буковини - церква Різдва Богородиці (1630 рік). Греко-католицький храм Святого Володимира (1848 рік) також дійшов до наших днів.

На початку XX століття Селятин, через який проходила залізниця (нині закрита), було багатим і розвиненим селом, про що нагадує велика кількість адміністративних та громадських будівель, що збереглися, більшість з яких, правда, в поганому стані.
