Romankivtsi

The large village of Romankivtsi is located on the highway Chernivtsi-Sokyryany.

It was first documented in 1565. The first known owner was captain Ionitsa Chydin, who established a landowner's estate in 1770.

After the accession of Bessarabia to the Russian Empire, Romankivtsi became the parish center of the Khotyn District. At that time, the village belonged to the Moldavian landowner Vasyl Balanesku (Balaneskyi), who also contributed to the arrangement of the estate, manor and park.

In particular, an underground greenhouse was built, the remains of which have been preserved to this day, as well as the ruins of some other commercial and residential buildings.

The old building of the railway station is located on the north-eastern edge of the village.
