Kruty

The small village of Kruty is located 20 kilometers east of Nizhyn.

The "Kruty" railway station on the Moscow-Bakhmach-Kyiv line is known as the place of defensive battles of the Ukrainian troops before the Bolshevik offensive on Kyiv. On January 29, 1918, a Ukrainian student camp was broken up here, which tried to stop the advance of Mykhaylo Muravyov 4,000-strong Bolshevik army.

At the place where the students died, the Memorial "Memorial of the Heroes of Kruty" was opened, the central element of which is a monumental stele in the form of a column of the Red Corps of Kyiv University.

Маленьке село Крути розташоване в 20 кілометрах на схід від Ніжина.

Залізнична станція "Крути" на лінії Москва-Бахмач-Київ відома як місце оборонних боїв українських військ перед наступом більшовиків на Київ. 29 січня 1918 року тут був розбитий український студентський курінь, який намагався зупинити наступ 4-тисячної більшовицької армії Михайла Муравйова.

На місці загибелі студентів відкрито Меморіал "Пам'яті героїв Крут", центральним елементом якого є монументальна стела у вигляді колони Червоного корпусу Київського університету.
