Vepryk

The village of Vepryk on the Vepra River is located 25 kilometers southeast of Bobrovytsia, next to the H-07 highway.

It is believed that in the olden days there were many wild boars in the local forests, hence the name. Vepryk was first mentioned in the 15th century. Settlements of the early Slavs of the Chernyakhiv culture of the II-VI centuries were discovered on the territory of Vepryk. In 1564-1782, the village was part of the Basan hundred of the Pereyaslav regiment.

The building of the old school, built by the Zemstvo of Kozeletsky District under the leadership of the landowner Kochubey, has been preserved. The manor-museum of the historian Petro Tronko has been opened in Vepryk.

Село Веприк на річці Вепра розташоване в 25 кілометрах на південний схід від Бобровиці, поруч з трасою Н-07.

Вважається, що за старих часів у тутешніх лісах водилося багато вепрів, звідки походить назва. Вперше Веприк згадується в XV сторіччі. На території Веприка виявлено поселення ранніх слов'ян Черняхівської культури II-VI сторічь. В 1564-1782 роках село входило до складу Басанської сотні Переяславського полку.

Збереглася будівля старої школи, побудованої земством Козелецького повіту під керівництвом поміщика Кочубея. У Веприку відкрито садибу-музей історика Петра Тронька.
