Osich

The village of Osich is located in the valley of the Seim River, 10 kilometers north of Baturyn. It is surrounded by wetlands on all sides, except for the southern one.

The history of the village is directly related to the Krupytsky monastery founded in the nearby village of Verbivka in the 16th century (perhaps even earlier). Thus, in the 17th century, the Osechche forest belonged to the monastery's possessions, from which the name of the village that arose near the monastery probably comes from.

Село Осіч розташоване в долині річки Сейм в 10 кілометрах на північ від Батурина. З усіх боків, крім південної, оточене заболоченими землями.

Історія села безпосередньо пов'язана з заснованим в сусідньому селі Вербівка в XVI сторіччі (можливо, і раніше) Крупицьким монастирем. Так, в XVII столітті до володінь монастиря належав ліс Осеччє, від якого, ймовірно, походить назва села, яке виникло при монастирі.
