General information about Kolomak

The village of Kolomak on the river of the same name is located 90 kilometers west of Kharkiv.

Known since 1571. In Cossack times, it was a town of hundreds of the Okhtyrsky regiment. In 1687, a Cossack council was held here, at which Ivan Mazepa was elected hetman, and the "Kolomak Articles" - a contract between the Cossack chieftaincy and the tsarist government - were adopted.

In 2017, a monument to Ivan Mazepa was erected.
