The village of Hroza is located at one of the sources of the Serednya Balakliyka River.
Administratively, it is part of the Kupyansk district of the Kharkiv region. The city of Kupyansk is the regional center of the Kupyansk district. The distance from the district center to the village of Hroza is 35 kilometers.
On October 5, 2023, the Russian army launched a targeted missile strike with two Iskander missiles on the village of Hroza. The blow fell on a shop-cafe, where at that time a memorial dinner was being held for a fallen Ukrainian soldier. As a result of this rocket attack, more than 50 civilians died, including a 6-year-old child.
