Ozeriany

The village of Ozeriany is located 10 kilometers northwest of Borshchiv.

It was first mentioned in 1469. The name comes from the karst lakes located here, which are now a hydrological monument of nature.

In the 16th century, a salt route passed through the town of Ozeriany. The ruins of the castle tower in the center of the village probably date back to the 17th century, when Ozeriany was owned by the Polish crown. In the 18th century, the town became the property of the Zhevusky magnates, and in the second half of the 19th century, it was bought by Prince Leon Sapiega, the Marshal of the Galician Diet.
