Lozova is a city in the southern part of the Kharkiv region, an important railway hub.

It was founded in 1869 as a railway station during the construction of the Southern Railway. The opening of the station building took place in 1893 (reconstructed in 1950 according to the project of architect Yevhen Lymar).

In 1917, an unequal battle took place here in the Lozova Haydamatsky kuren of the troops of the Ukrainian People's Republic with the overwhelming forces of the Red Army. In honor of the fallen Ukrainian patriots in 1991, the memorial sign "Haydamatskyi Cross" was installed.
