Burhunka

The village of Burhunka is located on the right bank of the Dnipro between Kherson and Berislav.

In princely times, there was an ancient Rus, then a Lithuanian settlement of Burhun here. During the period of Turkish-Tatar rule in the Northern Black Sea region, near the mouth of the Burhunka River, there was a crossing over the Dnipro, described by the French military engineer Guillaume de Beauplan. Battles often took place here between the Tatars, who were returning from raids, and the Zaporizhzhia, who were waiting for them at the crossing.

The current village of Burhunka was founded in 1779 after the conquest of the Black Sea region by the Russian Empire. A three-arched stone bridge built on the eve of Empress Catherine II's trip to the Crimea has been preserved.

Село Бургунка розташоване на правому березі Дніпра між Херсоном і Бериславом.

В княжі часи тут існувало давньоруське, потім литовське поселення Бургун. В період турецько-татарського панування в Північному Причорномор'ї біля гирла річки Бургунка була переправа через Дніпро, описана французьким військовим інженером Гійомом де Бопланом. Тут часто відбувалися битви між татарами, які поверталися з грабіжницьких набігів, і запорожцями, що чекали їх біля переправи.

Нинішнє село Бургунка засноване в 1779 році після завоювання Причорномор'я Російською імперією. Зберігся трьохарочний кам'яний міст, зведений напередодні подорожі імператриці Катерини II до Криму.
