The village of Velyki Budyshcha is located on the Poltava-Hadiach highway, a few kilometers north of Dykanka.
It has been mentioned in the chronicles since the 14th century as a fortification on the border of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The name comes from the word "buda" - the place of production of potash, which was used in ancient times as a detergent.
In the 17th century, with the blessing of Hetman Ivan Samoylovych, the Velyki Budyshcha Transfiguration Monastery was founded in Chernechyi Yar, which was later transferred to the neighboring Pysarivshchyna as the Holy Trinity Monastery.

The Holy Trinity Church in Velyki Budyshcha is the only one preserved in the village from pre-revolutionary times.
It was built in 1819 in the style of classicism. Architectural monument of the 19th century. It is one of the objects of the "Dykansky" Regional Landscape Park.
Ukrainian Wedding Museum

The Museum of Ukrainian Wedding was opened in 2008 in the House of Culture of the village of Velyki Budyshcha near Dykanka.
The exhibition presents wedding dresses of different times, household items, embroidered shirts and towels.
