General information about Kilchen
The village Kilchen on the left bank of the Orel River, at its confluence with the Dnipro, is located 50 kilometers south of Kobeliaky, 80 kilometers northwest of the Dnipro city. Administratively, it is part of the Mahdalynivka territorial hromada of Samar district of Dnipropetrovsk region.
It arose in 1963-1965 after the construction of the Kamianske Reservoir, which flooded the historic village Stara Orel.

It arose in 1963-1965 after the construction of the Kamianske Reservoir, which flooded the historic village Stara Orel.

Село Кільчень на лівому березі річки Орель, при впадінні її в Дніпро, розташоване в 50 кілометрах на південь від Кобеляк, в 80 кілометрах на північний захід від міста Дніпро. Адміністративно входить до складу Магдалинівської територіальної громади Самарівського району Дніпропетровської області.
Виникло в 1963-1965 роках після спорудження Кам'янського водосховища, яке затопило історичне село Стара Орель.
Поблизу села на березі водосховища розвивається рекреаційна зона.
