Kilchen

The village of Kilchen on the left bank of the Orel River, at its confluence with the Dnipro, is located 50 kilometers south of Kobeliaky, 80 kilometers northwest of the Dnipro.

It arose in 1963-1965 after the construction of the Kamianske Reservoir, which flooded the historic village of Stara Orel.

A recreation area is being developed near the village on the shore of the reservoir.

Село Кільчень на лівому березі річки Орель, при впадінні її в Дніпро, розташоване в 50 кілометрах на південь від Кобеляк, в 80 кілометрах на північний захід від Дніпра.

Виникло в 1963-1965 роках після спорудження Кам'янського водосховища, яке затопило історичне село Стара Орель.

Поблизу села на березі водосховища розвивається рекреаційна зона.
