The first farms on the site of the current village of Liubomyrivka were founded at the end of the 18th century by settlers from the defeated Zaporizhzhia Sich and serfs from the Poltava Region. Fugitive serfs continued to inhabit the territory of the modern village until the second half of the 19th century. After a series of administrative reforms in the second half of the 19th century, the settlement became part of the village of Chaplynka.

In the 1930s, the village was renamed Pershotravenka by the Soviet authorities. In 2024, in accordance with the requirements of the law of Ukraine "On condemnation and prohibition of propaganda of Russian imperial policy in Ukraine and decolonization of toponymy", the village was renamed to Liubomyrivka.
