Pulyny

The urban-type village of Pulyny on the Tenka River is located 45 kilometers northwest of Zhytomyr. Administratively, it is part of Zhytomyr district of Zhytomyr region.

The village has been known since the 12th century as Chortolisy - a Drevlyan settlement on the old road from Kyiv to Volyn. In 1578, it was mentioned for the first time under the name Pulyny, which probably comes from the surname of the then owners of the village. In the 18th and 19th centuries, Pulyny belonged to representatives of the Hansky family.

From 1935 to 2016, the village was called Chervonoarmiysk.

There are several well-known artists who came from Pulyn, who founded the Pulyny Community and opened the Pulyny Paints museum.

Cелище міського типу Пулини на річці Тенька розташоване за 45 кілометрів на північний захід від Житомира. Адміністративно входить до складу Житомирського району Житомирської області.

Селище відоме з XII століття як Чортоліси - древлянське поселення на старому шляху з Києва на Волинь. У 1578 році вперше згадується під назвою Пулини, яка, імовірно, походить від прізвища тодішніх власників селища. У XVIII-XIX століттях Пулини належали представникам роду Ганських.

З 1935 по 2016 рік селище мало назву Червоноармійськ.

Вихідцями із Пулин є кілька відомих художників, які заснували "Пулинське земляцтво" та відкрили музей "Пулинські барви".
