Kornyn

The urban-type village of Kornyn is located on the banks of the Irpin River, 20 kilometers north of Popilnia.

It was founded in the 16th century by immigrants from Polissya. Kornyn was first mentioned in 1550 as a castle of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which after 1569 became part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. For a long time it was owned by the noble family of the Proskury-Sushchansky. During the time of the Cossack state, Kornyn was part of the Pavolotskyi regiment, but later it returned to the Shcherbyny, after which it was owned by the Kanytskyi, Krushinskyi, and Vaysy.

Of the architectural monuments from those times, only the water mill has survived. In the center of the village, the legendary "one and a half truck" GAZ MM and the old tractor "U ...
