The village was founded in 1880 during the construction of the railway. Until 2024, it was called Zhelanne. In 2023, the decision of the National Commission for State Language Standards included in the list of settlements that "may not meet the lexical norms of the Ukrainian language", in particular, related to "Russian imperial or colonial policy". In 2024, the village was renamed Blahodatne.
