Yuriivka

Before the full-scale Russian military invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the village Yuriivka was one of the most cozy corners of the Azov region, specializing in children's and family recreation. Dozens of recreation centers and boarding houses operated here. The village was the "capital" of children's camps in the Donetsk region, where thousands of children from all over Ukraine went to recover every summer. Since March 2022, Yuriivka has been under Russian occupation, which has radically changed its status. Recreation centers that previously welcomed tourists have been converted by the occupying forces into barracks and military warehouses. Due to the lack of proper care for the infrastructure and the militarization of the coast, the unique natural resources of Yuriivka are under threat of degradation.

Тут функціонували десятки баз відпочинку та пансіонатів. Село було "столицею" дитячих таборів Донеччини, де щоліта оздоровлювалися тисячі дітей з усієї України. З березня 2022 року Юріївка перебуває під російською окупацією, що радикально змінило її статус. Бази відпочинку, які раніше приймали туристів, були перетворені окупаційними військами на казарми та військові склади. Через відсутність належного догляду за інфраструктурою та мілітаризацію узбережжя, унікальні природні ресурси Юріївки перебувають під загрозою деградації.
