Urzuf

The small resort village of Urzuf is located on the shore of the Sea of Azov, between Mariupol and Berdyansk.

It was founded in 1779 by Greek colonists who moved to the Azov region from the Crimea. Named by them in honor of the current city of Hurzuf in the Crimea, where they came from.

In 1876, the Saint Michael's Church (now restored) was built on the site of the first wooden church.

In the second half of the 20th century, the village began to develop as a resort. There is a shallow warm sea and a wide sandy beach. The resort infrastructure is at an average level.

Невелике курортне село Урзуф розташоване на березі Азовського моря, між Маріуполем і Бердянськом.

Засноване в 1779 році грецькими колоністами, переселеними на Приазов'є з Криму. Назване ними на честь нинішнього міста Гурзуф в Криму, звідки вони прибули.

В 1876 році на місці першого дерев'яного храму була побудована Михайлівська церква (зараз відреставрована).

У другій половині XX століття село почало розвиватися як курорт. Тут мілке тепле море і широкий піщаний пляж. Курортна інфраструктура на середньому рівні.
