The village of Nikolske is located on the Kalets River (the right tributary of the Kalchik), 25 kilometers from Mariupol.
Founded in 1831 by Cossacks. In 1831-1855 it was called Khutir Hladkyi. From 1855 to 1924 - the village of Staronikolske, Nikolske. Since 1924 - Volodarske. In 2016, the historical name Nikolske was returned to the settlement.
There are no attractions.

Засноване в 1831 році козаками. В 1831-1855 роках називалося Хутор Гладкий. З 1855 по 1924 роки - село Старонікольське, Нікольське. З 1924 року - Володарське. В 2016 року селищу повернуто історичну назву Нікольське.

Nikolske Museum of Local Lore occupies a separate one-story building in the center of Nikolske village.
It has a large exposition about the history of the resettlement of Greeks in these regions, and about what happened during the entire 180-year history of this settlement.
The collection includes more than 8,000 items. The decoration of the nature hall is a diorama of the "Stone Graves" reserve.
On the territory of the museum, open-air expositions have been arranged for the demonstration of large-sized stone tools of agricultural work and monuments of the Polovtsian tribes - the so-called "Polovtsian women".
