Prelesne

The village of Prelesne is located on the banks of the Suhy Torets River, 25 kilometers west of Slovyansk.

It is known since the 18th century, when the Moldavian nobleman Vasyl Bantysh, the hero of the military campaigns of the Russian Tsar Peter I, settled here. According to legend, the village was originally called Vesele, and the current name appeared when Bantysh first brought his bride to the village, and she, after looking at the landscape , who opened to her, exclaimed: "It's beautiful!".
