Oreanda

The village of Oreanda is located on the shore of the Black Sea, 5 kilometers from Yalta.

In the 10th-13th centuries, there was a fortification of Oreanda-Isar here on Mount Khrestova (fragments of the defensive walls have been preserved). In 1825, the estate was purchased by Emperor Oleksandr I, and in 1825, the architect Andriy Shtakenshneider built a palace for the wife of Emperor Nicholas I, Oleksandra Fedorivna. The Church of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God was built from the remains of the palace that burned in 1881. The park and the semi-rotunda gazebo have also been preserved.
