Trostianets

The village of Trostianets is located 120 kilometers southeast of Vinnytsia.

Known since 1598 as Adamhorod. In the first half of the 17th century, Trostianets belonged to the Vyshnevetsky magnates, then to Count Potocki, who built a sugar factory here. In 1840, Trostianets and the surrounding villages, which were the ancestral estate of the Potocki, were incorporated into the St. Petersburh Board of Trustees. At the end of the 19th century, the village belonged to the landowner Sabansky, who was forced to give all the surrounding land for debts to the French owners of the sugar factory. In Soviet times, many industrial enterprises were built.
