Mramorne

The village of Mramorne is located 15 kilometers from Simferopol. The Tatar name of the village Biyuk-Yankoy is probably related to the name of St. John ("biyuk" - big, "yan-kou" - the village of Yana (Ivana). The name of the saint also bears the source of Ai-Yan located here ( Ayan) - St. John, which feeds the Ayan Reservoir.

The village owes its modern name (renamed in 1945 after the deportation of the Crimean Tatars to Central Asia by the Soviet Union) to pink marble-like limestones, the deposits of which are mined in a local quarry.

On the nearby peak of Tas-Tau is the site of an ancient Tavr settlement, and the Marmurova and Emine-Bair-Khosar caves are nearby.

Село Мраморне розташоване в 15 кілометрах від Сімферополя. Татарська назва села Біюк-Янкой, ймовірно, пов'язана з ім'ям Святого Іоанна ( "біюк" - великий, "ян-кою" - село Яна (Івана). Ім'я святого також носить розташоване тут джерело Ай-Ян (Аян) - Святий Іоанн, який живить Аянське водосховище.

Сучасною назвою (перейменовано в 1945 році після депортації Радянським Союзом кримських татар до Середньої Азії) село зобов'язане рожевим мармуровидним вапнякам, поклади яких розробляються в місцевому кар'єрі.

На сусідній вершині Тас-Тау знаходиться древнє таврське городище. Неподалік - печери Мармурова та Еміне-Баїр-Хосар.
