The village of Kolchuhyne is located 10 kilometers from Simferopol along the Mykolaiv highway.
It was founded in 1810 by German immigrants as the Kronental colony (Kronental is a corner of paradise, a royal valley). The first colonists were natives of Alsace, Baden, Palatinate, and Bavaria.
Of all the former German settlements, Kronenthal is the most preserved in Crimea. Enthusiasts have created a cultural and ethnographic center "Kronental" here, visiting which you can get an idea of how the German colonists lived.
