Okonski Springs
Natural object
Okonski Springs, located in the village of Okonsk near Manevychi in Volyn region, have been declared a hydrological natural monument of local importance since 1972.
In the center of a small lake three meters deep, two powerful water jets beat, forming cup-shaped domes on the surface. Thus, karst waters enter the earth's surface under pressure.
The water in Oknyshche lake never freezes and has a constant temperature of +7-9°С (such lakes have long been called windows (okno). In severe frosts, steam always swirls above them. The Okinka River flows from the lakes.
The Okonsky Springs has very clean and tasty water, but its medicinal properties have not yet been confirmed.
Near the lake there are ponds where trout are bred.
