The village of Hirka Polonka on the Chornohuzka River is located at the exit from Lutsk in the direction of Lviv.
It has been known since 1545 as Polonne Hashtoldov, although as early as the 13th century it was probably here that the chronicled Polonynsky monastery existed, on the site of which the present Michael Church was later built. In the 16th century, Hirka Polonka belonged to the Radzivill princes, then to the Sangushka princes.
A barrow has been preserved under which the Cossacks who died during the Battle of Berestets are buried (a memorial cross has been installed).
